Dog-gone birthday

Well, while I had my box of birthday items out for the previous card, I figured it convenient to go ahead and make a second male birthday card.  This image comes from Crafty Sentiments Designs, and I made it work for a birthday, since cute boy images are on the skimpy side.   I also kept the embellishments to a minimum, by just using a couple shiny candi-dots and layering, which eases mailing, as well as not being frou-frou for a boy!   I colored the image with my favored prisma pencils.

Double scoop fun

Since I need a boy's birthday card real soon, I chose this cutie pie from Whimsy by Crissy Armstrong.  And, to carry on my party theme, shown by the hats on my background paper, I couldn't resist adding a couple 3-D party hats to my celebrants.  The sentiment is computer generated, and I added the star brads at the base.  Oh, and my image has been colored with prismas/gamsol and I added stickles to the scoops.   Yum . . .

Wonderful colors of autumn

This enticing little miss comes from The Paper Shelter - don't you just love her pocket pooch?  A big thanks to my BFF, Gail, for sending me this sweet background paper, which I've expanded on, by adding a foliage border die cut and topping it with flowers, using a flowery brad for the centers.  The glittered gold along the bottom is ribbon, I've added a few sparkly gems around my image, and I've embossed the golden frame surrounding her.  Leaves are beginning to turn a bit here and some have even fallen -- happy autumn to all.

Flying broom

This sweet witch comes from Crafty Sentiments Designs, which I've colored with prismas/gamsol.  I tucked a little black lace doily behind my image, the bats were done with a punch and foam-mounted.   The cat is a die-cut, and I put some green behind for its eyes and a little pink for its nose and also foam-mounted.   The pumpkin is a little wood cut-out that I found in my Halloween/autumn stash, along with the little glittered dots.   My verse was computer-generated in a "chiller" font.

Sunflower smiles

There is nothing happier than seeing a whole field of blossoming sunflowers -- sadly, though, the ones around our area have peaked, so they're bowing and look a bit sad.  But, I'm sure the seed will be enjoyed by many birds, once harvested.  This cute image comes from Di's Digi Designs, and I've colored with prismas/gamsol, and just added a computer-generated sentiment.   I ran a strip of ribbon along the left side, then attached some adorable sunflowers that my BFF, Gail, sent me recently - thanks again, my friend, for contributing to my supplies.   I added a vellum-like butterfly with foam to complete my creation.

Birthday poses

Well, it looks like these Bugaboo pups are ready to celebrate someone's birthday . . . and, I couldn't resist adding a party hat to one of them.  Since this was for a masculine birthday, I refrained from my usual embellishment array -- I just can't be quite as inventive for those, as I'm sure many of you out there feel the same way.

Take your medicine

Remember the days of the "candy stripers"?   This Lili of the Valley image portrays this mission of mercy, and of course, that meant I had to color her outfit in stripes, and used prismas for the remainder of my coloring.  The trio of circles at the top and bottom are candi-dots, which makes for ease of mailing without bulk, as they squish down on their foam backing.   A layered flower and layered papers complete my creation.  Thanks for viewing.
